Alukonigstahl Romania, the local subsidiary of the European market leader in aluminum, PVC and steel systems, recorded a turnover of 21.5 million euros between January and December 2020 and also aims to consolidate activities on traditional office and commercial segments, as well as the expansion of activities in the high-end residential segment, as the pandemic epidemic has highlighted the need of Romanians to live in better conditions.
Alukonigstahl is the exclusive distributor in Romania of Schüco (world leader in aluminum and PVC systems) and Jansen (supplier of steel profiles), and more … than 85% of the company’s turnover in 2020 was represented by premium sales Schüco aluminum profiles. In 2020, Alukonigstahl delivered Schüco aluminum systems for more than 75,000 m2 of curtain wall for new real estate developments and in 2020 it has already obtained a number of 20,000 m2. A series of well-known office projects signed with Alukonigstahl for carpentry or curtain walls (such as U Center, Offices Jiului, Isho Timisoara, Millo Office, Dacia One, Sediul Continental din TimiÈoara, Skanska Equilibrum 2, AFI Tech Inox 2), as well as a number of high-end residential projects (Win Residences / PSC Group or Nusco City, Neo Timpuri Noi, Neo Mamaia).
âThanks to our projects and partnerships, we have been the pioneers of this segment in Romania and so far we have developed several largeâ Schüco districts â. Alukonigstahl aims to accelerate its activity this year, given the many investments we have made in streamlining activities and adapting to the new market context. We aim to consolidate our existing portfolios through the digitization and rationalization of our supply chain, as well as to expand into new segments, such as the residential sector, which has strong growth potential in Romania, â Attila Beer, Country Manager Alukonigstahl Romania and Moldova States.
The prices of industrial metals have registered a significant increase in recent months on the London Metal Exchange. For example, the price of copper, widely regarded as an economic indicator, is higher than in the past 9 years and has almost doubled in the past 12 months. Compared to spring 2020, the price of aluminum has increased by about 50% and the price of rolled steel strip has increased by more than 75%.
Alukonigstahl recently implemented a series of digitization processes and reorganized its supply chain and warehouse in Jilava. In 2020, the company launched its own digital platform – AKS Connect, where customers can place orders and track their deliveries online, in real time. In H2 2021, Alukonigstahl will continue its digitalization process, launching a new platform.
The integration of technological, high-tech and energy-efficient solutions into the door and window systems of new real estate projects is a major trend recorded in the last 3 years. âThe window is no longer just a window, it not only provides a pleasant aesthetic and fresh air. Thanks to our partners Schüco Èi Jansen, who have invested heavily in technology in recent years, we can now add a decentralized ventilation system, which brings fresh air (heated and filtered) into the room, without it being necessary to open the window – which can bring noise, dust or allergens inside, âsays Attila Beer.
The other big trends are windows, balcony doors and sliding door systems used mainly in residential complexes. (projects such as Cloud 9 Residence, Luxuria Residence, Sea One, Nordis Mamaia, Tomis City, Wings Residence) or the PVC joinery Schüco, which gained ground last year (projects like Buenavista International or Win Herastrau).
New niche solutions have also been developed, with the advancement of restoration trends for historic buildings. The Dragomira Monastery and Domnita Balasa Church are such examples, where old joinery has been replaced with modern, insulated Jansen steel windows.
