Special "Gift Bag" patches have been added to Divinity: Original Sin 2 through continuous updates, giving you a variety of new upgrade options for your adventure. One of these packages is called Sorcerous Sundries, which allows you to improve old gear for current encounters. Turning early game items into something that can be used for present challenges can be a great way to repurpose your favorite tools from the past.
One of the realities of this RPG is that some gear becomes obsolete rather quickly as your party gets stronger. As you learn crafting recipes in Divinity: Original Sin 2 and pick up better items, it can be hard to retain even the coolest gear at early levels. Activating the persistent official Sorcerous Sundries mod might disable trophies and achievements, but it allows you to upgrade gear at any point.
You do have limited options to improve gear in the base game with certain exploits, like selling items to merchants aboard your Lady Vengeance flagship and rebuying those same items later.

How To Find The Four Sisters Trading Company
When you turn on the Sorcerous Sundries Gift Bag, only a few characters belonging to the Four Sisters Trading Company carry the special new crafting items. You have no way of knowing who belongs to the Company at first in Divinity: Original Sin 2, so it can be tricky tracking these tools down. You'll find these people in both Rivellon and each Act of the game, in these locations:
Four Sisters | Location | Coordinates |
---|---|---|
Deidra | Fort Joy | (X: 453, Y: 28) OR (X:576, Y: 244) when the Seekers attack Bishop Alexander |
Demira | Reaper's Coast | (X: 373, Y: 110) |
Dagmare | Lady Vengeance at Nameless Isle | (X: 3, Y: 62) |
Donna | Arx Pilgrim Encampment | (X: 366, Y: 57) |
Each of the Four Sisters has individual AI mechanics that act in the same way as any other NPC your party can interact with. Stealing items in front of them, attacking innocents, or committing crimes where they can see you will make them wary of your group. One of the key tricks to discover in Divinity: Original Sin 2 is to try not to make important characters fearful of you and be on your best behavior.
Doing too many evil actions in front of NPC characters can make them simply refuse to speak to you or anyone in your party. The most extreme cases could result in some people attacking your group on sight if you've angered them enough.
How To Craft With Sundries
All of the Sisters sell three different items needed to upgrade equipment, including Azure Flint, Diamond Dust, and Quicksilver. Flint is used to improve weapons, while Dust can enhance any piece of your armor in Divinity: Original Sin 2, even shields and belts. On the other hand, Quicksilver is used to upgrade the numerous jewelry items you've collected or bought throughout your journey.
Depending on the rarity of the gear piece you want to upgrade, you may need more of the three Sorcerous Sundries items. The costs for each type of item are:
- Normal (White) - 1 item
- Uncommon (Green) - 1 item
- Rare (Blue) - 2 items
- Epic (Purple) - 2 items
- Legendary (Pink) - 3 items
- Divine (Orange) - 3 items
- Unique (Gold) - 4 items
Once you have what you need, combine the gear you want to upgrade with the right materials from your crafting menu. You may have to split any Sundries stacked together between items to avoid any errors that may consume more materials than are necessary. Improving weapons, armor, or jewelry will bring it up to your character's current level, but also increase the stat value required to equip it.
Several factors could be changed with Sundries upgrades, ranging from enhancements to a weapon's base damage to general stat improvements to an armor piece. No new features will be added to upgraded gear, so don't expect any additional abilities or stats. Due to the expensive nature of Sundries materials, it is recommended you only do this process every 3–5 levels depending on an item's rarity.
How To Gain Sundries For Cheap
The expensive cost of Sundries can quickly drain your party of funds, burning through your savings by thousands of gold pieces if you aren't careful. However, if some of your characters have the right skills, you can barter or charm your way into better prices for these items. Gaining enough discounts may even cause the total price of Diamond Dust or Quicksilver to be reduced to nothing when you play your cards right.
Similar to any NPC, each of the Four Sisters can be interacted with to start a conversation, where you learn about them and answer questions. Building a good relationship with these characters could result in you gaining some Sundries for free as a sample along with other extra items in Divinity: Original Sin 2. Simply talking could also grant your party small discounts as you engage with every Sister.
The Four Sisters enjoy riddles and can be won over if your character has enough points to succeed in a Persuasion check during a conversation. Those who have customized their character with the right Talent in Divinity: Original Sin 2 may have proficiency with this early. Every Sister has a unique personality that you can connect with using Barter and Persuasion civil abilities for better and better discounts.
Humans and Lizards have a natural talent for Barter and Persuasion skills, but anyone who spends points on the right Talents seen in the above video by YouTube creator Nazatur can become trained in these categories.

Those who don't appreciate the charming approach can always pickpocket or kill each merchant to gain upgrade items. Having a high Thievery civil ability means you can steal items of higher value from NPCs, but you may not be able to get all a Sister's Sundries in one attempt. Any character with 4-5 Thievery can usually steal all a Sister's limited supply of upgrade items in one robbery.
Trying to kill the Sisters can be quite difficult since each of them is a strong mage that specializes in earth and poison spells against your party. These characters are weak to physical attacks and surprisingly take damage from healing spells due to every Sister being classified as Undead. Similar to striking any bystander in Divinity: Original Sin 2, any nearby NPC will attack your group if you choose to attack a Sister.
Charming, stealing, or murdering your way to gain Sundries will still get you the items you need to improve old gear from past battles. Items from Fort Joy and the Reaper's Coast go from something to throw away to useful gear that could be used in the final battle of the story. Boosting your arsenal through Sorcerous Sundries in Divinity: Original Sin 2 will let you keep loot from across your adventure for a longer time.
