I WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2017 I KNOXVILLE NEWS SENTINEL Robert H. Loy KNOXVILLE, TN Robert H. Loy, age 81, of Knoxville, left" his earthly home and went to be with his Heavenly Father on November 11, 2017. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Robert (Bob) was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church.

He was the owner and operator of Loy Coach Company. Bob was also very active in the Knox County Sheriff's Department with the SCAN program. He loved to travel and see God's Creation. He was a man of high integrity and morals beyond reproach. He loved God, his family and his friends.

He was very kind hearted and always went out of his way to serve others and was a true example of the life of a Christian. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Preceded in death by parents, Henry and Edna Loy; infant son, Steven Loy; sisters, Mary Jeanne Gotcher and Karen Sue Loy. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 37 years, Brenda Loy; son and daughter in law, Robert H. Loy, Jr.

(Beth); daughter, Teresa O'Neil; daughter and son in law, Kim Dyer (Michael); son, Michael Loy; grandchildren, Greg O'Neil (Leslie), Lindsey Delmark (Chris), Jennifer Semishko (Matt), Derek Vandergriff, Melissa Watson (Jimbo), and Amy Stephens (Ross); seventeen well-loved great grandchildren. We shall hear angels, we shall see the sky sparkling with diamonds. Chekov M. Yvonne (Morgan) Moorman CLINTON, TN M. Yvonne (Morgan) Moorman, Age 50, of Clinton, TN passed away peacefully at her home on November 13, 2017. She was born July 30, 1967 in Kingsport, TN.

She graduated from East TN State University with a Bachelors in Education, from Middle TN State University with a Bachelors in Environmental Science and Chemistry, and finally from the University of Tennessee with a Masters in Occupational Safety. She retired in May 2017 as the Senior Director and Deputy Manager of Environment, Safety and Health for CNS at the DOE Y-12 National Security Complex. She had worked at Y-12 since the early 90's. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oak Ridge, TN.

She loved to travel, loved to volunteer, but more than anything she loved to spend time with her family. She leaves behind to cherish her memory: one beautiful daughter- Jordan Rae Bishop, her loving husband, Dennis Moorman, her mother- Johnsie Morgan, her sister and brotherin-law Anita and Steve Latham, brother-in-law Rex Moorman and wife Arlene, her mother-in-law Barbara Oden, nephew- Max Morrell, niece- Amanda Bradley and husband Brandon and their daughters Gracie and Macy. This was a place that was dear to her it helped raise three fine individuals, her father John E. Morgan and her aunts, Annalee Skelton and Ella Mae Copas. James Jay Nelson KNOXVILLE, TN James Jay Nelson, 93, died Sunday, November 12, 2017 after a life filled with adventures and love. Mr. Nelson was born Dec.

28, 1923, in Maryville, the third of four children of Charles H. and Blanche Mathis Nelson. A U.S. Marine, Mr. Nelson served in World War Il stateside and in Guam, where he was crew chief of an F4U Corsair fighter plane.

He met the love of his life, Mary Jean Caldwell of Knoxville, by letter during his time in the service. They were married Aug. 1, 1947; she survives him. Mr. Nelson worked in construction, in plumbing, as a photographer, as a of Studio Florist, for Southern Railway and as a salesman before joining the United States Postal Service in 1957.

After retiring from the post office, he fixed up and sold houses with a friend and operated a seasonal funnel-cake booth with his family. But the roles Mr. Nelson most enjoyed were father, grandfather and great-grandfather, at which he excelled. A man of strength, character and charm who enjoyed travel and working with his hands, he modeled a level of generosity matched only by his sense of fun. He set an example of how to work hard and play hard for his children, Jacque Nelson Underwood and James J.

"Jim" (Rebecca) Nelson grandchildren Maria (Casey) Basting, Joshua (Alexis) Underwood, Jason (Bethany) Underwood, Keith Nelson and Kristi (Jamie) Nelson Bumpus; and great-grandchildren Sadie Willow and Penelope Jean Underwood, Gracie and Ginny Kate Underwood, Amelia and Robert James "R.J." Jerome (Jerry) Anthony Rasmussen KNOXVILLE, TN Jerome Anthony (Jerry) Rasmussen, age 75, of Urbana, Illinois passed away early Monday, November 13, 2017 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Jerry was a veteran of the Marine Corp. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School and Urbana High School Jerry was a graduate of the University of Illinois. He was retired from County Market in Urbana after 28 years of service.

Jerry was an avid Cubs and Illini fan. He was a voracious reader and loved to play Euchre. Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Rasmussen; son, Erik Rasmussen; parents, Louis and Margaret Lucille (Brown) Rasmussen. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Bernard Silverstein. Surviving her are Larry Silverstein of Knoxville; Debbie Silverstein of Roswell, Georgia; Mitchell Silverstein and wife Susan of West Chester, Pennsylvania; and Beverly Geller and husband Wayne of Avondale, Pennsylvania.

She also leaves three grandchildren: Zacharie Silverstein, Hannah and David Geller; two sisters: Rita Ravin and husband John, of Las Vegas, Nevada and Kay Skloff of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Silversteins, natives of Philadelphia, came to Knoxville in 1953, after Dr. Silverstein received his Ph.D. in Speech Pathology from Purdue University. He was the founding Director of the East Tennessee Hearing and Speech Center.

Mrs. Silverstein was a member of Temple Beth El for more than 60 years. She was an active member of the Jewish community, having served on the boards and as president of the Sisterhood of Temple Beth El and Hadassah. She was a longtime member of the League of Women Voters, serving on the local and state boards. Services will be held on Thursday, November 16, at 2 PM, at Temple Beth El, 3037 Kingston Pike, Knoxville.

He retired from the Knoxville News Sentinel with 36 years of service and later from Kroger Co.
