EC approves € 150 million macro-financial assistance to Moldova

The European Commission announced on Tuesday that it had adopted a proposal to grant Moldova new macro-financial assistance (MFA) of up to 150 million euros to help the country meet part of its external financing needs over the years. next two years.
Some 120 million euros of financial assistance would be provided in the form of medium-term loans on favorable financing terms, while the remainder would be provided in the form of grants, the commission said in a statement.
The proposed MFA, which must be adopted by the European Parliament and the Council before it can enter into force and disbursements can be made, would accompany the new IMF financing program of US $ 591 million, approved on 20 December.
