Former Boston Celtics center Daniel Moldovan, Aron Baynes’ agent, on All Australia return bid
Whether he ends up returning to the Boston Celtics, hanging on to another team, or moving overseas to play in the Australian NBA or beyond, the simple fact that the former Celtics Aron Baynes even playing basketball is something of a small miracle. Baynes is trying to return to the NBA after a freak accident at the 2020 Olympics nearly left him paralyzed.
After more than a year back to walking and more complicated maneuvers, all of Australia is looking good and training for this year’s Las Vegas Summer League teams. And that’s not just a courtesy call for scouts scrutinizing the 35-year-old’s game – there’s genuine interest in Baynes and some believe he can help an NBA team.
The Celtics need a bruiser with Baynes’ skills, and his outside shooting is as good as it’s ever been, but until we know more about his whereabouts, here’s an interview with his agent , Daniel Moldovan of Octagon Basketball, talking about the big man’s difficult path to the game.
